I started this blog because I knew that my words were collecting dust– albeit metaphorical dust in folders on my Mac –which really upset me. I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings, I wanted to do something worthwhile. So here we are.

About Me:

I’m a wife–married to my beau of six years. I’m a mother–our only daughter P.J. just turned one. And I’m a student–currently enrolled in my senior year at Brenau University. I am a writing tutor and English major with a creative writing minor. I write for Odyssey and have been published in The Elixir. I love to write–and now blog!–because I’m a bit of a show off. Feel free to contact me for any reason.

I’m currently trying to raise funds for a summer semester at Cambridge University. If you would like to know more, click here.

About my writing:

I deal mainly with creative writing, as it is my focus in school. Some pieces I’m particularly proud of are Honeymoon: Take Two, Diaper Rash, and Pregnant Dreams.

I also write for Odyssey, which has forced me to write revelatory reflection essays. Some articles that will help you understand me as a writer and a woman: What was Virginia Woolf Wearing? Why I Never Wanted to Be a Mom, and I’m a Mom and I Selfishly Chose to Go to College Anyway.

Some other pieces that will help fill in who I am: my wedding vows and my daughter’s birth story, and how I recreated myself.

As a wife and mother, I am prone to homemaking and party throwing, so there will be lots of posts of that nature as well. The two I’m most fond of are: PJ’s nursery makeover and her flamingo & pineapple themed first birthday party.

I am also endeavoring to conduct my own year long experiment after reading Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project. If you want to follow along, I suggest you start here.
